Energy Therapy

Energy Therapy

Energy Therapy is a form of complementary and alternative medicine that is based on the belief that there is vital energy flowing through the human body, with the goal to balance that energy flow. There are many methods employed to achieve flow and release, each with their own benefits and sensations to the recipient. Energy Therapy is being used in multiple settings ranging from nursing homes and hospitals to rehabilitation clinics and wellness centers helping the recovery process and the quality of life in many.  Energy Therapy is being used in patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, promoting the healing process after surgeries and injuries, stress and anxiety reduction, aiding in depression, helping PTSD, boosting the immune system, helping inflammation, giving patients an overall sense of well-being, and/or reduce side effects from treatments.

Reiki

Jamie and Gail are pleased to offer as Reiki Level 3 Masters. Reiki is a holistic Japanese technique for stress reduction, relaxation, and spiritual healing.  This non-invasive approach requires the placement of the practitioner’s hands over the body or in some cases resting gently on the body. Reiki originates from the root words Rei, meaning higher knowledge or spiritual consciousness, and Ki meaning life energy. Reiki, as a whole, is spiritually guided life energy. It is no secret that we are all made of energy along with everything that surrounds us.  Our bodies are susceptible to illness, disease, and inflammation when there is a restriction in the flow of energy.  Not only does this cause physical ailments but it also causes emotional turmoil and stress.  Reiki seeks to restore the flow and provide balance through immediate stress reduction, relaxation, reduced anxiety, pain management, and activating your body’s own natural ability to heal itself promoting overall well-being.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

Additionally, Jamie offers EFT which is an alternative treatment for physical pain and emotional distress. It’s also referred to as tapping and is similar to acupressure. EFT is helpful in treating those with anxiety, phobias, and PTSD. EFT focuses on the meridian points — or energy hot spots — to restore balance to your body’s energy. It’s believed that restoring this energy balance can relieve symptoms a negative experience or emotion may have caused. By tapping on these meridians while expressing a positive affirmation designed to restore the flow of energy, the physical as well as mental pain and anguish can be greatly diminished or eliminated. It has been an authorized treatment for war veterans with PTSD, and it has demonstrated some benefits as a treatment for anxiety, depression, physical pain, and insomnia.

What you can expect:

During each session, your practitioner will assess your individual needs (please be sure to book with Jamie if you wish for EFT support). Your therapist will create a relaxing environment conducive to your healing journey. This may include sound resonance (a mixture of specific frequencies that encompass relaxing music), chakra crystals, blankets, and aromatherapy. Your therapist will make suggestions but the comfort of the environment is always in your control!

Clients report many different sensations or experiences during Energy Therapy which include but are not limited to: tingling, buzzing, slight pulling or pulsing of the body, a feeling that the body is very light or very heavy (relaxed), feeling a surge occur inside their body, emotional release, seeing many shades of colors, having deep insight or visions about past events, meditative state, falling asleep, constrictions and then feeling of release or lightness in the chest or throat and overall feelings of peace and calm.

When asked to explain their experience, most people say “It’s impossible to explain sufficiently and that you really must experience it for yourself.” In order to get the most out of Energy Therapy, one must have an open mind and leave all expectations of what you should experience at home. Be open and go with the flow!

Please plan to wear comfortable clothes (because you remain dressed for all Energy Therapy sessions), limit jewelry (no smart watches, please), and drink a sufficient amount of water before your appointments.

After completing each session, continue to drink water, take gentle care of yourself for the next day or two and enjoy an Epsom salt bath if able.  Your body might feel a bit under the weather or experience flu-like symptoms, as this is normal during the detox period and purging of stagnant energy.  A treatment plan will be presented at the end of your first session for any recommended follow-up sessions.

"Boundless is absolutely wonderful! I did a massage with Tracy, and it was by far the best massage I've ever received. The therapists here are great about working with your goals and adapting the style of massage and technique to what you need and what they decipher from working with you. It's actually adaptive, not just a massage where you say you want more work on a certain area and they just spend 5 more minutes doing Swedish there. Highly recommend, and will be back!" - Merritt C.
